Blues reject Babbel

The German international has been told by club manager Gerard Houllier that he has no future at Anfield after failing to impress both on and off the pitch since he returned from his battle against Guillian-Barre Syndrome.

The player's representatives have been in touch with officials from Goodison Park, but the Merseysider's fear Babbel may not return to the form that made him such a hit at Anfield during the treble season of 2001. The club also felt that the 29-year-old's wage demands were too high.
