Blues star linked with Reds

Arteta has spent the last four months on loan at Goodison Park and was expected to sign for Everton once the transfer window opens on Friday. However, his agent says the Blues are not the only club in talks with Real Sociedad about a transfer.

"It is not only Everton," said Arteta's agent Miguel Santos.
 
"There also exists other offers from England and Spain. Mikel is a very good player and this situation is normal.

"I do not want to name names but Arteta is very valued in the English League.
 
"Everton are not at an advanced stage but it is normal at this time, and we are not nervous with the situation."

Although Santos has not named Liverpool as the other team it is believed Rafael Benitez is keen to add to his Spanish contingent at Anfield.
