While many would see a trip to Anfield to face holders Liverpool as a particularly daunting prospect, Allardyce insists that he and his side will look forward to a special night on Merseyside with great relish.
Allardyce said: "This is a great draw for us. We wanted a big club in the fourth round and you don't get much bigger than Liverpool. We can go to Anfield with confidence and hope that we can advance into the quarter-finals.
"It will be a tough match. Liverpool have a wealth of talent at their disposal and you can't forget that they are cup holders. It will be a major accomplishment to go there and win.
"Anfield is a great place to play football and night matches on the famous old ground are always a bit special."
