Bolton boss backs Houllier

The bullish Lancastrian admits that he was left 'sick' by the disturbed reaction of a small minority of people to what has been a season of frustration for underachieving Liverpool.

Allardyce said: "For someone like Houllier to be treated as he has been, having done as much as he has done for Liverpool, is absolutely despicable and it makes me sick.

"I know that the people involved can only represent an absolutely tiny minority of the club's millions of supporters - if indeed they are supporters - but, even if it is only one person, it is one too many.

"Look at Houllier. He is a man who has literally put his life on the line for Liverpool Football Club and he deserves far better than this."
