The Trotters boss also insists that he doesn't regret taking the Liverpool winger on loan.

"El-Hadji is a very talented young man but he is also a bit of a hot-head and has caused himself a few problems," said Allardyce.

"But he has done nothing over the top and I can't understand why all this emerged last week. In my opinion a lot of the stuff that has been thrown at him has been wrong.

"As a player he has grown in the weeks he has been here. He has begun to contribute not only with his hard work in the final third but also now with goals."
