Following today's earlier item regarding the Bootroom Boy's challenge this evening, we are pleased to say that he finished a very credible 3rd in an extremely tough Open Race at Brough Park.
We were worried that he'd be slaughtered but the supporting Liverpool fans cheered him on as he led from the start until after the second bend when champion trainer Elaine Parker's dog took control. The hot favourite was expected to lead from start to finish so they were shocked when Sam took the lead even though it only lasted half way.
He nearly made it second but tired at the end and just lost out to end up third.
It was a race he was never going to win and we expected him to return home last so we are extremely pleased with the result.
