Liverpool reserves were beaten 2-1 by Middlesbrough this evening.

Neil Mellor scored the Reds only goal but it didn't count for much as Boro nettwed twice to secure the points.

French defender Gregory Vignal limped off after 26 minutes with a foot injury.
