Boro star still wary of Owen

The 24-year-old England marksman has still managed to score 17 times for the Reds this season despite injury and poor form blighting his campaign for the most part.

Queudrue, while accepting that Owen has failed to hit the heights of his compatriot Thierry Henry, is fully aware that he must be alert to the goalscoring instincts of the pacy forward.

Queudrue said: "It's maybe a little different this year because Henry's flying and Owen has maybe lacked his best form, but he's still very dangerous.

"He needs just one occasion and he can score, so that's a big threat to us and we must keep and eye on him."

Steve McClaren's Carling Cup winners are bidding to claim their highest-ever Premiership finish - 9th being their previous best under Brian Robson - but Queudrue feels Middlesbrough face a difficult task at Anfield.

He added: "We're playing Liverpool, who are playing for a place in the Champions League, so it will be a tough game. They're confident - they've just won at Old Trafford.

"We can win every game - we beat Manchester United at Old Trafford as well, so everything can happen. You can win, you can lose, you can draw, so we'll see on Sunday.

"Then we have Manchester City, who are fighting to stay in the Premier League, and Portsmouth, who are the same, so there are three hard games to come."
