The winger, signed from Barcelona, can play on either wing or as a second striker. His ability to adapt to different positions gives Benitez more options and should mean the player makes his debut on Sunday.
"He can play up front, as a second striker and on both flanks. He is a rare player who can use both left and right feet," said El Boss.
"It is difficult to find players who can do that. He played as a striker for Barcelona's youth team and as a winger for me at Tenerife. He is a good bet to play anywhere.
"I tried to sign him for Valencia, but the problem was that Barcelona is a very big club. To change from Barcelona to Valencia is very difficult. But now it is Liverpool he said, okay, it is a big club and in a big league and I am going to work for a manager who has confidence in me."
