With the Reds going in at half-time 2-0 down most supporters feared the worst, especially since it had been thirteen years since the Reds last managed to win a game they were losing at half-time away from home.

When they came out for the second half however, Liverpool looked like a different team and brushed Fulham aside, albeit with a bit of luck, to the delight of their manager.

"For us this victory is very important. We have played well at home but you also have to play well away and win." said Benitez.

"We scored quickly and the team got more confidence. That helped us to have more possibilities in the second half."
