The Reds go into the game with the Blues on the back of eight successive Premiership wins with seventeen goals scored and none conceded. Rafael Benitez wants to see his side continue this form when they make the short journey across Stanley Park tomorrow evening.

"We go into the derby with a lot of confidence. The derby is different to any other game but we are looking forward to it and we will do our best," said Benitez.

"We know if we win it will be important for us and the supporters but the most important thing is three points. We have got three points from Newcastle and I want three points against Everton.

"We know it wasn't the best when we lost 1-0 there last season but I want to see a victory this time. It is always a fantastic atmosphere and a special game and personally I now more than what I did last season about the derby."
