Boss set to ring the changes

Gerard Houllier has dropped the biggest hint yet that he'll rest a number of players tonight, with Emile Heskey and Michael Owen first in line to put their feet up.

Liverpool's hectic schedule goes into overdrive up until the new year, and Houllier knows that in order for his side to last the pace he may have to give certain players a well earned break.

And with Milan Baros waiting on the sidelines Liverpool have no shortage of attacking options.

Houllier said: "You've got to take into consideration the number of games we have coming up. Between now and January 4 we play 12 games. That's seven Premiership games, two UEFA Cup, one or two Worthington Cup games and an FA Cup tie in 36 days.

"When you have players who have been at the World Cup then you have to manage that carefully. So I may sometimes have to rest players."
