Steven Gerrard is the Reds' sole representative on the list but it is Jamie Carragher who has been Liverpool's best player this season and Rafael Benitez was suprised by his omission.
"For sure, Steven has possibilities, but Carragher not nominated?" said Benitez when asked about his captain's inclusion on the list.
"He has had a fantastic season," added the boss, who then joked: "I just want to see him score more goals. That is my challenge to him now."
