Bowyer speculation returns

Reports originating in Leeds (not Ipswich) claim that Liverpool are increasing their interest in Leeds United's Lee Bowyer.

The Yorkshire Evening Post, known for it's accurate reporting and unbiased opinion, weren't afraid to run the "Reds Step Up Bow Chase" this evening which will naturally upset Leeds chiefs who are desperately trying to get the midfielder to sign a new deal, as he can walk away for nothing on a Bosman next year.

Matt Reader of the Post says: "It is understood that Bowyer has already told close friends that he is interested in a move to Liverpool, though his accountant David Geiss said today he was still talking with Leeds over the new deal."

The talented Bowyer may have made the headlines for the wrong reasons in recent times but nobody can deny the fact that he is an outstanding footballer.

Earlier today Houllier refused to comment about the Bowyer, Anelka and Kluivert speculation saying he would comment after the Ipswich game, probably on Monday.
