Brooking delighted with Lee appointment

Lee had acted as a part-time employee at the FA whilst part of the Anfield staff and former West Ham hero Brooking expects Lee's influence to be vital now that his time is fuly at the disposal of the national team.

Brooking said: "We are delighted to have Sammy on board as a full-time member of staff.

"He has a huge amount of experience of international football, as a player and coach with both national and club teams. His background will help strengthen links between The FA and the clubs, as well as moving forward our coach education programmes."
