Cheyrou, who was signed from Lille two years ago by former boss Gerard Houllier, is expected to go for half of the £4.5m Liverpool paid for him.

Cheyrou had a handful of decent games last season but has struggled to adapt to the English game on the whole and Benitez is expected to offload him once the transfer window opens next week.
