"Some of the criticism was fair because I hadn't been playing much and then when I did play I wasn't showing what I could do," said the French midfielder.

"This season the manager told me I would get a chance and that it would be up to me to take it. I felt good, my fitness levels were high, I was free from injuries and I always had enough confidence in myself that I would do well.

"I had heard that some clubs were interested in me but I have never wanted to leave. I know I can bring something to the team and hopefully I can show much more of myself over the rest of the season."
