Bruno not going down the Pan

The former Lille midfielder, whose last start for the Anfield club was an uninspiring display against Chelsea on the opening day of the season, has struggled to produce the sparkling form that saw him dubbed the 'new Zidane' upon his arrival on Merseyside 18 months ago.

Panathinaikos, who sealed a place in the UEFA Cup third round draw alongside Liverpool with an impressive 3-1 win at Glasgow Rangers last night, look set to fail in their pursuit of the former Les Bleus international following a stern rebuttle from Gerard Houllier.

Houllier said: "There is no chance of anyone leaving in January. We need everyone because of the injury situation. There is more chance of a journalist playing for Manchester United than Bruno going to Greece!"
