"The Premiership is so different to what I have been used to in France," said the young midfielder.

"The pace is different, the commitment of the players is different and even the referees are different in the way they look after games.

"I think you have to learn about football in this country before you can settle into it and show your best."

"I know I have to adapt my game to succeed here. The manager asked me to watch from the sidelines in the early games and I have benefited from that. If the manager calls on me to play now then I am ready.

Cheyrou has only figured in twelve competitive games since his move from Lens in the summer, mostly Champions League fixtures

"I have learnt a lot just by watching, but I will learn even more by playing on the pitch," he added.
