Carra delighted with win

The Reds earned their first ever win at the Emirates when they beat Arsenal 2-0 earlier this afternoon thanks to an own goal from Aaron Ramsey and a 90th minute finish from Luis Suarez.

The fact that the win ended the Emirates hoodoo made today's win even sweeter admitted Carragher.

"I suppose it does [make it more sweet]. I was aware of that fact. I think it was 10 or 11 years since we won here and I think that incorporated Highbury into that too. It's because they have been such a great side for such a long time. It's a difficult place to come but I think we deserved it today," the vice-captain told Sky Sports after the match.

"To be fair to them they have a lot of injuries and then they had a few more during the game, so it makes it very tough for them. We wanted to take advantage of that.

"I thought Vermaelen was outstanding for them and if it had been 0-0 he would have got the man of the match award. Without him I think we would have scored a goal or two in the first half. But credit to ourselves we have to look after Liverpool.

"Last week was a bit of come down. Everyone had built themselves up but unfortunately it never happened. We were on a little bit of a downer after the game but we have to take heart from the fact we played so well here and I think we had a little bit to prove. I think we did that."
