Liverpool play Real Madrid at the Bernabau in the first leg of their Champions League last sixteen tie tonight and it's a game Jamie Carragher can't wait to play in.

"We still have to believe we can win both competitions, but for now our focus is totally on the Real Madrid game," said the Reds' vice-captain.

"Forget about our league form because when you play a Champions League match the mentality and intensity makes it different.

"We realise it is going to be a really difficult tie because Madrid are a great side. People said when the draw was made that it was a good draw for us because they were on a bad run, but people forget they have won the league over the last two years against a fantastic Barcelona side.

"Maybe they have more confidence now because they have a new manager, but we will see on the pitch how the tie unfolds.

"I just think it's a great draw. I always get so excited when the Champions League draw is made and I was pleased from a personal point of view that we drew Madrid because I want to play at the Bernabeu.

"Along with AC Milan, we are the top three most successful sides in European football, so for two of them to be pitted against each other tells you how big this game is."
