Carragher, speaking to Liverpool's official website, said: "Centre half is where I started my career for Liverpool.
"It was just that they bought a couple of players in those positions - Sami Hyypia and Stephane Henchoz - and they did very well, so I found a new role at full-back.
"But I feel as though I can play at centre-back, no problem.
