Carra hoping for World Cup success

England haven't had any success at a major tournament since lifting the World Cup on home soil back in 1966. Jamie Carragher believes that is too long without success for a nation like England and says the players are determined to put that right.

"I talk to the other players about it. To have won only trophy in our history is unbelievable," said the Liverpool defender.

"It's not good enough with the players England have had down the years.

"Greece have done it but we've never won a European Championship.

"It's about time that England did do something on an international stage.

"Everyone else seems to do it and we always seem to fall short for whatever reason.

"But I think the group of players we have is one of the best probably since we last won the World Cup - and hopefully we can go and win it again this summer."
