Carra hoping to bring Reds form to Cardiff

Carragher was easily Liverpool's player of the year last season but has yet to do himself full justice in a England shirt, but that is a situation the popular Scouser is hoping to put right this afternoon.

"If I ever get a run in the future, I'm sure I'll do a lot better as I've never really grabbed my England career with both hands or done as well as I've done for Liverpool," says Carragher.

"You don't get too many chances to play for England unless you're a superstar. There are certain players who you know are going to play because they're that good, and I'm not one of them.

"In the past 12 months, I've maybe pushed myself closer to being a regular in the squad. I did myself no favours in the recent friendly against Denmark but hopefully, if selected for the Wales match, I can take my chance and stay in the team."
