"We've had a history of being a top team in Europe and over the last few years its not gone as well as we would have liked," he said. "But I think getting into the semi-finals of the Champions League is where this club needs to be and hopefully this is the start of things now.

"They are a top team and we're playing against top players and we realise that coming away from home that they are going to have a few chances but they had more chances at Anfield than they did tonight.

"Away from home you've got to keep it tight. I'm sure they wanted to do to us what we did to them at Anfield and we were aware of that, so its imperitive that you keep it tight.

"Chelsea will be desperate to beat us and we'll be desperate to beat them and sometimes its a bit strange playing someone from your own country.

"But we both know each others games very well and all the games we've had with them have been very tight, so hopefully this will go our way."
