Carra omission surprises Crouch

Despite having another excellent season for Liverpool, Jamie Carragher has again missed out on a nomination for PFA Player of the Year to the suprise of Peter Crouch.

"It did surprise me because Jamie has been, for me, our best player this year. He's been absolutely top-class, especially in the European games," the Englan striker told liverpoolfc.tv.

"Week-in, week-out, he consistently turns in great performances and for him not to be recognised by his fellow professionals is a shame.

"I'm certain the fans at this club, the manager and all the players though are aware of just how valuable he is to our side.

"Unfortunately, you are not allowed to vote for players at your club but if we could then there's no doubt whatsoever that Carra would have got mine."
