Carra pleased to be Germany bound

Carragher played in both of England's games this week, albeit at left-back in place of the injured Ashley Cole, and says he is glad to have been part of the successful side that won Group Six.

"It was great to get through but we wanted to top the group," said Carra.

"We did well. We were disappointed that they scored before half-time but that was really the only chance that they had in the first half.

"Give credit to the lad because he stuck it away well. They caught us a couple of time on the break in the second half but we stuck at it and Frank has popped up with the winner for us again.

"He built a head of steam up from the very start and he gave us options.

"There was a good pace to the game.

"We are England and everybody expects us to play at that tempo in every game but it is not possible.

"We know there have been some poor performances but hopefully this win will give us confidence in the four games that we have got leading up to the World Cup and we can go on from here."
