"This is may favourite game of the season without a doubt," he admitted. "When the fixtures come out the two derby games are always the ones I look for first.
"The Everton games mean more to me than any other, and that includes Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea. I love playing in derby games.
"When we play them at Goodison it always feels as though virtually the whole stadium is against us, so when we do manage to come away with the three points as we have done quite a bit recently, it always feels like we've really achieved something.
"All I've been getting lately is text messages from my Evertonian mates every time they win, so it's about time we put a stop to that!"
