Jamie Carragher has decided to call time on his international career and concentrate soley on Liverpool although he will meet with Steve McClaren this week as the England manager wants to try and talk him out of his decision.

Despite being one of the best defenders in Europe, Carragher is frequently left out of the England team and has been dropped in favour of inferior players like Wes Brown, Ledley King and Johnathon Woodgate.

The Liverpool vice-captain doesn't want to be a bit part player for England any more and will announce his retirement later today.
