Carragher: Beating Everton is important

"Everton is massive and still means so much to us, especially the local lads, and we have to work on the foreign players about how important this match is to the people," he said.

"Incredible isn't it, that every foreign star who comes here has been a Liverpool fan all his life. Can you believe that?

"Steve Gerrard, Danny Murphy and me are the local boys. I'm not having it that Michael is local. He's Welsh and lives there!

"We all know how much beating Everton means and how not winning trophies hurts the fans. We hurt with them."
