"To win in the Champions League that's what you're looking for - a clean sheet and an away goal but it's only half time," he said after the game. "They know what they've got to do now, they need an away goal so it's going to be game on at Anfield.

"We're one of the most organised teams in the competition and that's probably why we've done so well over the years."

When asked about today's rumours about Rafael Benitez, he added: "I got a text message about it. It's a load of nonsense. Liverpool is pretty good for rumours over the years and that's another one. There was nothing in it, it just spread like wildfire."
