Carragher: Graffiti is out of order

The words 'Hope you die of AIDS Houllier' and 'Houllier Out' were sprayed on the walls of the training ground complex, but were swiftly removed.

"It is bang out of order," said Carragher. "When the stick gets personal it is out of order. It isn't acceptable. Gerard Houllier has been through a lot at this club whether you like the man, think he is a good manager or a bad manager.

"The reason he had his heart trouble is because he was working too hard. That was the reason he needed a major operation. He has been working to try and get Liverpool back to the way the club was in the late 70s and 80s, so to subject him to this sort of stuff is wrong.

"Everyone knows what he went through and it was all down to him wanting the best for Liverpool. People always get criticised when they come out and support the manager. People say, 'Why don't you do it on the pitch?' I understand that. But I also believe there has been far too much criticism of the manager.
"People should think of the good times, the way we have played in Europe and coming back from places like Roma and Barcelona with decent results. It is the same manager."
