The Greek defender made his debut alongside Carra on Saturday and the vice-captain was encouraged by what he saw.
"He came in and did well for us," said Carragher about Kyrgiakos.
"It was a baptism of fire really as Bolton away is one of the toughest places to go. He won the aerial duels with Kevin Davies who is probably one of the most difficult opponents in the Premier League."
