The Reds target was the recipient of a £250,000 offer from Anfield, which was swiftly refused by Leeds. However, Carson's advisor admitted that interest from Premiership clubs was hugely flattering.

But Leeds are keen to hang onto one of their few remaining assets, and are set to offer the youngster an attractive package to keep the 19 year old star at Elland Road after his contract runs out in the Summer.

Bryan Morris, Leeds Utd spokesman, said: "An offer has been made for Scott Carson by a Premiership side. This offer has been turned down by Leeds United."

He added: "The club is speaking to Scott's agent today in order to offer a new deal for him to stay at Leeds."
