Carson happy at Anfield

Carson played his first game for Liverpool in the reserve win over Birmingham last night and looked comfortable on the rare occasions he was called into action.

Carson said: "It was a quiet game for me but you don't mind them! In saying that you do like to be involved now and again just to keep yourself warm but it's always good to get your first game out of the way.

"I had one save and when you have nothing to do you just try and concentrate right until the last minute. I just kept my concentration and was pleased with the save.

"I'm enjoying it at Liverpool and I'm still settling in but it's a good place to be at. I've come from playing in a Championship promotion battling side to playing for a side in a Cup final. I can't ask for anymore than that so hopefully I'll be on the bench for the Chelsea game.

"It was good to be involved at Watford and it was a great night. I want to keep playing well and progressing and hopefully that will impress the manager."
