Celtic keeper confident of victory

Celtic go in to the match knowing that they must score if they are to have any chance of reaching the semi-final of the UEFA Cup. Liverpool, of course, require only a goaless draw to seal their passage into the last four. Douglas believes that Liverpool will struggle to stop Celtic from scoring tonight.

Douglas said: It will be interesting to see how they approach it because look what happened in Stuttgart. We were 2-0 up and we sat back a wee bit and then hung on towards the end, so this might actually suit us better.

We have given ourselves a good chance. We’ve got a chance. We are hanging in there and we saw what a quality team they were at Parkhead.

"We had a great start and let them back in, but we know we can score and it would be great to do it again. The onus is on us to score and, touch wood, we have never really let ourselves down.

"We have always managed to pop up with a goal. We know what is required and we will do our utmost and give it our best shot.

"We seem to play massive teams in Europe no matter what cup we’re in. Whether it’s been the Champions League or whatever. It’s a great learning process."
