Champions League campaign starts now

Here's a list of the games facing the Reds over the next two months:

Champions League
12/13 July: 1st round, 1st leg
19/20 July: 1st round, 2nd leg
26/27 July: 2nd round, 1st leg
2/3 Aug: 2nd round, 2nd leg
9/10 Aug: 3rd round, 1st leg
23/24 Aug: 3rd round, 2nd leg
Pre-season friendlies
16 July: Bayer Leverkusen
22 July: FC Cologne
27 July: Shimizu S-Pulse
30 July: Kashima Antlers
Super Cup
26 Aug: CSKA Moscow

The Leverkusen and Cologne games will now almost certainly be cancelled, as will the Japan tour should we qualify for the second round of the Champions League. If we then progress further the Super Cup will have to be rearranged for a later date, causing problems for the start of the Premiership season.

Here's a list of the clubs we could face in the first round of the Champions League, when the draw takes place on 24 June:

FK Rabotnicki (Macedonia), Dinamo Minsk (Belarus), Sliema Wanderers (Malta), FC Pyunik (Armenia), Total Network Solutions (Wales), KF Tirana (Albania), Glentoran (Northern Ireland), Levadia Tallinn (Estonia), F91 Dudelange (Luxembourg), PFC Neftchi or FK Khazar Lenkoran (Azerbaijan), HB Torshavn (Faroe Islands), Kairat Almaty (Kazakhstan).
