Alan Curbishley's side lost 2-0 at home to Newcastle, while David Moyes' outfit were held to a goalless draw at home to West Ham.

Blackburn's surprise 2-0 win over Arsenal brings them level on points with the Reds, although Gerard Houllier's men have a game in hand.

Chelsea also play tomorrow, when they take on West Brom at the Hawthorns, but if Liverpool win at Spurs it would put them right back into contention for fourth place.
