Liverpool face Chelsea twice in four days next week, firstly in the Champions League group stage and then in the Premiership. Peter Crouch is confident the Reds can beat them twice and show the rest of the country how it's done.

Crouch said: "As soon as the draw was made we were all talking about Liverpool v Chelsea. We put one over on them last year and hopefully we will do the same again.

"The semi-final last season was an amazing game and the whole atmosphere came across even on the television.

"They were two fantastic games and the first time I came to the club after I signed all the lads told me the Champions League games at Anfield, with the crowd behind you and the Kop singing, are something special to be involved in. It will be the biggest game of my career, no doubt. Chelsea are the team to beat at the moment.

"There are a lot of teams who have tried and failed already against them this year and last year and we all know that a lot of supporters of other clubs want to see them lose.

"But we're a big enough club with good players. We showed last year that we can can beat them and I think we're stronger than we were because the manager has been able to bring in his players.
"Chelsea have spent a lot of money, as they do.

"They're obviously going to improve. But we think we've improved as well.

"We want to take it on to the next level after the start we've had. We need to turn draws into wins. It was a great result at Real Betis last week which really proves that we can win games when asked."
