Chelsea bid for Gerrard

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is said to have authorised the ambitious transfer offer. Paper talk is of a £100,000 a week contract.

Gerrard has also been linked with Manchester United but Gerard Houllier has always insisted the player is not for sale, saying they would have to "cut both my arms off as I will have them wrapped around him."

Gerrard is said to be happy at Liverpool but that won't stop moneybags Chelsea making the bid.
