Chelsea to hijack Kewell deal?

The 24-year-old Australian international is said to be on the verge of a £7m move to Anfield but Chelsea, boosted by the financial might of their new Russian owner Roman Abramovich, will attempt to persuade the Leeds man to make the switch to Stamford Bridge over the next 48 hours - according to the Daily Mirror.

Kewell is expected to finally bring an end to the long-running transfer saga by choosing his new club by the end of next week.
