The former Lille midfielder believes that Gerard Houllier's men have the quality to see of the threat of Marseille in their quest to claim a fourth UEFA Cup triumph in Gothenburg this May.

Cheyrou, speaking to the club's official website, said: "The UEFA Cup is a competition we desperately want to win. There's no doubt about that. And as far as I am concerned we have a good chance.

"There are a lot of good teams left in the tournament but we can compete with any of them on our day and there is nothing for us to be afraid of.

"Our performance last night was very good. We wanted to make a good start and we knew when we got the two early goals that the tie was over. Levski did well to come back at us, but I was always confident we'd come through the tie.

"Now we're looking forward to the draw for the next round. I don't mind who we get because, as I have said, we have nothing to fear and we are playing well enough at the moment to beat anybody."
