Ciao to Diao?

The gangly Senegalese international has admitted that other teams have been interested in his services, but he rejected these in preference to making the grade at Anfield.

Diao said: "I've had some teams interested in me during my Liverpool career but I have never thought about those because I want to succeed here."

But Diao admitted that without starting appearances, his future at Anfield looks bleak.

"We become footballers because we want to play, not because we enjoy training every day. I want to be playing regularly and that's been my objective since the start of the season. I've given myself until Christmas to make an impact. If things do not work out, I will have to look at other possibilities. "
