City want Hamann

Hamann has been told by Rafael Benitez he will not get much first team action with Liverpool this season and can join another team if he wishes. Hamann was on the verge of joining Bolton but that move seems set to collapse and now Man City have enquired about the German.
Stuart Pearce is set to offer Hamann a two year deal to join Man City. However, there are obstacles for City to overcome if the move is to go ahead. Hamann will have to agree to a sustantial drop in wages and Bolton could take action to prevent Hamann joining another Premiership club after he reneged on a deal to join them.
