Clock ticking in Bellamy deal

Craig Bellamy has a £6m escape clause in hs Blackburn contract. However, that clause expires in a month's time so if Rafael Benitez does want to bring the Wales striker to Anfield he will have to hurry the deal through.

Bellamy was a boyhood Liverpool fan and is said to be desperate to join the Reds. He has reportedly told friends he would be willing to take a pay cut to join the FA Cup holders.
