While there is no doubt that Gerard Houllier will probably dip into his wallet when the transfer window opens, a move for the West Ham midfielder looks extremely unlikely.
Only this week the player gave his full backing for Hammers boss Glenn Roeder.
"We have got to stick together," he said. "We are all 100% behind the gaffer, every single player, and we have to make sure we dig in and fight because we all want to do well for West Ham."
