Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore believes the Reds can succeed in Europe due to the way they iron out results.
Stan admits the Reds have got the draw they wanted and that the lads will be confident that they can proceed to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
"They have avoided the so-called big clubs - Manchester United, Deportivo and Real Madrid - so they will be confident they will qualify," said Collymore.
"I'd like to see liverpool get one or two goals at home and use their counter-attacking style in the away trip.
"Thompson has repeatedly said that the current side are a match for anybody, so they can do it."
