Confident Riise sounds title warning

The Reds have taken just one point from their last four Premiership games, including a demoralising 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.

But despite Liverpool's recent sticky patch Riise is still adament that the title is Anfield bound, and has set himself the ambitious target of remaining at the club for a further eleven years.

He said: "I still believe we will win the league this season. Our bad period will be over soon and it will be very close between Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool until the end of the season.

"I am not worried about being on the bench in some matches because the most important thing is the team.

"I'm confident I can force myself back into the first eleven. I'm training hard and I'm optimistic about the future.

"The year 2002 has been my best in football because I've established myself at Liverpool and in the Norwegian national team.

"I would like to play for Liverpool for another 11 years by which time I'll be 33."
