Contract developments all round

Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy is to be offered a new contract by the club.

The 24-year-old is the latest player to be awarded a new deal as the club try to tie down the players whos contracts are running down.

Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, Dietmar Hamann, Stephane Henchoz and Stephen Wright have all agreed and signed new deals and Murphy is expected to sort his future out in the near future.

Jamie Redknapp, Vladimir Smicer and Patrik Berger on the other hand are yet to put pen to paper on their offers.

Redknapp is a target of Spurs and he's refusing to sign at the moment. The Czech duo are also in no rush to tie up their future but developments are expected in the near future - or of course Ged will just boot them out and with rumours of the axe hanging over several big names, they don't want to push their luck too far with their demands.
