The left-sided player made his Liverpool debut during the Reds' 2-0 win over AK Graz on Wednesday, but the Sky Blues insist that have not given up all hope of luring the man who claimed the club's Player of the Year award last season.
Coventry assistant manager Adrian Heath said: "A lot of people will have seen Stephen go on for Liverpool on Tuesday night so that's been a little bit of a blow to us.
"We were hoping to do something on that front, so maybe he's forced his way into the plans at Liverpool. We have spoken to Liverpool on almost a daily basis and I think Rick Parry is probably fed up of hearing the manager's voice."
